Before and after: the devastation at Yarloop

Satellite images reveal the extent of devastation cause by a bushfire at Yarloop, in Western Australia's south west.

It is hard to imagine how devastating a bushfire can be.

But the raw power of the bushfire that mostly ruined the town of Yarloop, in the south west of Western Australia, can now be seen in aerial shots from Nearmap.

The images show the extent of the devastation and the random nature of a fire that seems to have razed some homes while leaving others standing.
