Injured Sydney AFL stars Kurt Tippett and Callum Mills may still both play a part in the Swans' finals campaign - if their team can keep winning.
Ruckman Tippett (jaw) and half-back and rising star winner Mills (hamstring) were both injured in Saturday's 36-point qualifying final derby loss to GWS Giants.
Both will miss next Saturday's SCG semi-final against Adelaide at the SCG, but the fitness update on Monday was brighter than the initial prognosis two days earlier.
Mills and Tippett have each been listed on the club's website as being out for one to two weeks.
Tippett has managed to avoid surgery after suffering a hairline fracture to his jaw.
"He won't play this week and we'll assess what his return-to-play timeline is after that, but some positive news there with Kurt for sure," Swans general manger of football Tom Harley said on the club's website.
The news on Mills was also good after it was initially feared his hamstring injury would sideline him for some time.
"It's a grade one strain, which is the lowest strain you can have in a hamstring," Harley said.
"So he's a one-to-two week (injury) and also a bit like Kurt in that the prognosis is more positive post-scans than it perhaps was during the game."
The news wasn't so good for promising defender Zak Jones, who was one of the potential candidates to replace Mills against the Crows.
He was ruled out of the game after suffering concussion in the final quarter of Sunday's NEAFL grand final.
Ruckman Toby Nankervis and defender Jeremy Laidler loom as the likely candidates to replace Tippett and Mills respectively, after both were withdrawn from the NEAFL decider.
Callum Sinclair, who shared the rucking duties with Tippett earlier in the season, is listed as being out for one more week, after missing the last six matches with a knee issue.
