Adelaide forward Eddie Betts is keen to move on from the racist incident that marred an AFL match at Adelaide Oval.
Indigenous Crows star Betts had a banana thrown at him by a Port Adelaide fan during Saturday night's match.
Adelaide skipper Taylor Walker noted the club had rallied around Betts, adding that the 29-year-old was keen to step out of the spotlight and focus on a Friday night clash with West Coast.
"As a footy club .. we're fully supportive of Eddie and his family," Walker told Fox Footy.
"He wants to move on. He's a team player, he wants to get on with footy.
"As a footy club we just have to do that as a whole.
"The most disappointing thing about it is we should be sitting here talking about what Eddie Betts has done for the game."
The supporter, who is in her mid-20s, was banned indefinitely from AFL games after targeting Betts in his 250th game.
Port Adelaide issued a statement on behalf of the woman late on Monday, saying she apologised and would accept her punishment.
Walker praised the way Port handled the situation.
"A lot of respect goes to Port Adelaide," he said.
Betts broke his silence on Monday night, saying racism towards indigenous players remained an issue for the AFL.
"It's sad that racism still exists in our game," Betts told the Crows website.
"Hopefully people can learn from it.
"I've obviously got to find a way to put it aside because we've got finals coming up (and) we've got West Coast on Friday night.
"That's probably one of the main things that I need to focus on now, it's going forward, putting it aside and focusing on footy."
