Bieber's lawyers seek to block jail images

Justin Bieber's lawyers have filed legal documents in an attempt to prevent the release of images that show the star's 'intimate personal parts'.

Lawyers representing pop star Justin Bieber have filed legal documents in an attempt to prevent the release of images showing the singer in police custody.

The request comes after footage emerged of the Baby hitmaker being strip-searched by police in a Florida jail after his arrest in January.

The motion, filed late on Friday by Bieber's legal team states: "While in custody at the Miami Beach police station the defendant was captured on videotape in various states of undress which show intimate personal parts of the defendant's body."

The documents allege the release of the video showing Bieber's strip search is in violation of the law and it emerged before the pop star's lawyers were made aware of the existence of the footage.

Earlier in February, it was revealed a police officer was facing an internal investigation over claims she attempted to take a picture of the singer while he was behind bars.

Bieber, 19, was charged with driving under the influence, driving without a valid licence and resisting arrest after allegedly drag racing in January.
