Bikie boss arrested at NSW airport

The head of the Comancheros bikie gang is due to appear in a NSW court after being charged with money-laundering offences.

The president of the Comancheros bikie gang has been arrested in NSW on board a private charter flight bound for the South Pacific, allegedly with $60,000 in cash.

The 30-year-old Melbourne man was on board the aircraft, which police allege had been chartered to fly to Noumea from Victoria, when the plane stopped in Newcastle to refuel.

Customs officers searched the man's baggage and allegedly found more than $60,000 on Tuesday.

Local police arrested the man and he was charged with two offences, including dealing with suspected proceeds of crime.

He is due to appear in Newcastle Local Court on Wednesday.
