Billboards point LeBron to NBA's 76ers

A Philadelphia business has gone to eye-catching lengths to lure Cleveland's LeBron James to the 76ers next season.

One savvy Philadelphia business has taken inspiration from Hollywood in an effort to lure NBA superstar LeBron James to Ben Simmons's 76ers.

Three billboards urging James to leave Cleveland have been installed along a main road near the Cavaliers' home court, in a nod to the Academy Award-nominated movie Three Billboards Outside Ebbing, Missouri.

The first billboard shows James's No.23 complete with a crown next to the numbers of Australian Simmons and teammates Joel Embiid, Dario Saric and Robert Covington.

The next reads "Complete the Process", in a play on the Sixers' "Trust the Process" catch cry of recent seasons while the third says "#PhillyWantsLebron".

The 33-year-old can opt out of his contract at season's end and the buzz around a move to Philadelphia, who have the ability to make a realistic offer, has grown despite him expressing a desire to complete his career in Cleveland.

The billboards have been leased by Power Home Remodeling.

While the NBA has tampering rules in place to stop teams from wooing players, there is nothing stopping individuals or businesses doing so.

"We're passionate about Philadelphia," the company's co-CEO Asher Raphael told ESPN.

"We have an amazing city, it's the best sports town and it's an awesome place to live ... LeBron is in the conversation of being the best player of all time.

"We think if he comes to Philly, he gets a couple more championships."

Simmons and the 76ers will see the billboard for themselves when they play the Cavaliers on Friday (AEDT) at Quicken Loans Arena.
