Biodiesel maker braces for oil price pain

Biodiesel company Australian Renewable Fuels has placed its shares in a trading halt while it assesses the damage inflicted by sliding oil prices.

Shares in Australia's only national biodiesel company have been halted from trading so the company can assess the fallout from the latest plunge in world oil prices.

Australian Renewable Fuels says it is assessing the impact of a "significant change" in trading conditions after oil prices slid beneath $US30 a barrel.

Shares in the company, which has plants in Victoria, South Australia and Western Australia, are expected to remain in a trading halt until Wednesday.

The stock last traded at 14.5 cents.
