Deputy Opposition Leader Julie Bishop has attacked Prime Minister Julia Gillard's tough-love approach to young teenage mums.
Ms Bishop criticised the prime minster's plan to stop Centrelink payments to teenage mums if they fail to return to school once their child reaches 12 months.
"Who is Julia Gillard to set herself up to give moral guidance in instructing young women on the dangers of sex before marriage?" Ms Bishop told the coalition party room on Tuesday.
Ms Bishop also condemned the government's plan to give pensioners a free digital TV set-top box, amid reports each will cost taxpayers up to $400. Set-top boxes sell for about $30 each.
Ms Bishop likened the scheme to the federal government's bungled home insulation program.

"This would be the next addition of the pink batt installation fiasco," she said.
"The big difference between our side of politics and the Labor Party is that we don't have to be who we're not. We just have to be ourselves and stick to our principles."
The government has earmarked $309 million to help pensioners switch over from analog television to digital.
