Foreign Affairs Minister Julie Bishop says she's concerned about the level of complaints about the overseas television broadcaster, Australia Network.

A tender process for the 10-year broadcaster was scrapped in controversial circumstances in 2011 and responsibility for the service handed to the ABC after a rival bid from Sky News.

The contract is now being reviewed by the government's Commission of Audit.

Julie Bishop told Biwa Kwan she hopes the ABC is acting on complaints about the way it conducts the Australia Network.
