Julie Bishop is chuffed more women are joining the international club of foreign ministers.

There were only 25 female foreign ministers in the world when Ms Bishop took up the role in 2013.

"I joked we should be called the G25, well I learned today there are 31 of us so it's become the G31," she told an International Women's Day lunch in Sydney on Wednesday.
