US Secretary of State Mike Pompeo and Secretary of Defense James Mattis will host Australian counterparts Julie Bishop and Marise Payne in California later this month.
Mr Pompeo announced on Monday this year's Australia-US Ministerial Consultations will be held at the Hoover Institution at Stanford University in Palo Alto on July 23 and 24.
This year's AUSMIN celebrates 100 Years of Mateship, marking the centenary of US and Australian forces fighting side by side in battle for the first time.
Promoting infrastructure development, economic growth, strong governance and maritime security in the region will be on the agenda.
North Korea will also be discussed, along with fighting terrorism and violent extremism and improving security in the Middle East.

In a joint statement, Ms Bishop and Senator Payne said the Australia-US alliance was vital to security and prosperity.
"Holding this year's AUSMIN on the west coast of the United States is a strong acknowledgement of the extensive interests we share in the Indo-Pacific region," the ministers said.
The US state department said the talks would centre on deepening the two countries' strategic alliance with a view to promoting peace, stability, and prosperity in the Indo-Pacific and beyond.
Foreign Minister Bishop and Defence Minister Payne last hosted the United States in Sydney on June 5 last year, with annual strategic talks between the two nations held since 1985.
