Australia's record 88-0 thrashing of Canada at the women's Rugby League World Cup has been overshadowed by Renae Kunst levelling a biting accusation against Janai Haupapa.
The Jillaroos delivered Wednesday's 18 tries-to-nil romp ahead of the sides' semi-final showdown on Sunday.
Their biggest win was tarnished after Haupapa was charged with contrary conduct by the match review panel and is facing a two-match ban.
The Canadian team have until 9am Thursday to enter a plea and, if she fights the charge, she will appear before the judiciary on Thursday evening at NSWRL headquarters.
Kunst emerged from a tackle on Haupapa in the 21st minute, complaining to referee Joey Butler and pointing to her forearm.
The Jillaroos would not comment on the incident however Canada coach Mike Castle described it as out-of-character for Haupapa.
"If anyone's met Janai, she's the liveliest, bubbliest human being I've ever met," Castle said.
"It's certainly not in her nature; she's not an aggressive person at all."
It's the second biting incident to mar the women's World Cup. Australian centre Isabelle Kelly was accused but cleared of a similar charge in Sunday's win over England.
It was a disappointing subtext to what was an emphatic win for the Jillaroos, who finished the group stage with three wins from three games and cemented their reputation as favourites to win back-to-back titles.
The match at times resembled a training drill as the Canadians, made up mostly of rugby union sevens players and with only one player in their squad who had played rugby league before the tournament, were well and truly outclassed.
Despite the heavy defeat, Canada still finished second in pool B - after their win over Papua New Guinea - to advance to the final four.
Australian back-rower Vanessa Foliaki, centre Zahara Temara, winger Karina Brown and bench prop Elianna Walton all recorded hat-tricks.
Fullback Corban McGregor and winger Chelsea Baker scored doubles.
When Baker crossed for her second in 68th minute to make it 74-0, it surpassed the Australians' previous biggest win of 72-0, recorded against Fiji in 1998 and against France in the 2013 World Cup.
"We said at halftime we hadn't finished games as well as what we should do," Jillaroos coach Brad Donald said.
"It was a good opportunity for us and there's just a few things we've asked them to improve on each time around."
The Cook Islands earlier caused the boilover of the tournament with a 22-16 win over England.
New Zealand finished off their pool campaign with an unconvincing 38-0 victory over Papua New Guinea.
The Kiwi Ferns will meet England on Sunday for a spot in the final.
