Blast reported in eastern Afghan city

An explosion has reportedly taken place in eastern Afghanistan, wkith gunshots also apparently being fired.

A number of explosions have been reported in the eastern Afghan city of Jalalabad and gunshots could be heard in the area of the blasts, local officials said.

Attaullah Khogyani, the provincial government spokesman, said the explosion was reported in the third police district of Jalalabad city.

But he said the exact type and target of the attack is unclear.
