Blues make eight changes for Chiefs

First-five Ihaia West and halfback Bryn Hall will start among eight changes to the Blues side for their Super Rugby pre-season match against the Chiefs.

The Blues will have a different starting scrumbase pairing for their final Super Rugby pre-season match against the Chiefs with the inclusion of Bryn Hall and Ihaia West.

Hall and West will wear the respective No.9 and 10 jerseys, having been on the bench for the Blues' wins over the Melbourne Rebels and the Hurricanes.

They swap places with Billy Guyton and Matt McGahan, who move to the reserves for the match in Pukekohe on Friday.

In all, coach Tana Umaga has made eight changes from the 15 that started the 40-12 win over the Hurricanes last weekend.

Blues: Lolagi Visinia, Melani Nanai, Rene Ranger, George Moala, Tevita Li, Ihaia West, Bryn Hall, Steven Luatua, Blake Gibson, Jerome Kaino (capt), Josh Bekhuis, Hoani Matenga, Sione Mafileo, Quentin MacDonald, Ofa Tu'ungafasi.

Reserves: James Parsons, Sam Prattley, Namatahi Waa, Charlie Faumuina, Scott Scrafton, Gerard Cowley-Tuioti, Patrick Tuipulotu, Kara Pryor, Joe Edwards, Billy Guyton, Matt McGahan, Male Sa'u, Rieko Ioane, Ben Lam, Matt Duffie.
