Bluescope Steel has more than doubled full-year profit to $353.8 million and forecasts underlying earnings growth of about 50 per cent for 2016/17.
The steelmaker says profit for the 12 months to June 30 rose 159.6 per cent from $136.3 million for the previous year, with earnings before interest rising 89 per cent thanks to sales growth, cost reductions and the acquisition of the remaining 50 per cent of the North Star business in the US.
Its final dividend was flat at 3.0 cents per share, fully franked.
