A person has died after a home was destroyed by fire west of Brisbane.
The blaze broke out shortly before 4am, with the Atkinson Dam house well alight by the time emergency crews arrived.
Police confirmed a body was found later on Thursday morning and said the person was believed to be the only occupant.
Detective Senior Sergeant Heath McQueen earlier told the Queensland Times that authorities were treating the fire as suspicious.
"A crime scene has been declared. We treat all jobs like this as suspicious until proven otherwise," he said.
