Body found at popular Perth beach

Police are investigating a suspicious death at a popular beach in Perth's northern suburbs with a crime scene set up and road closures in place.

Homicide detectives are investigating the suspicious death of a man at a popular beach in Perth's north.

The man, believed to be aged 23, was found near the base of a set of stairs at Trigg Beach just after 6am on Monday.

A police spokeswoman said the circumstances surrounding the man's death were yet to be determined.

Dozens of police are at the scene, including homicide detectives and forensic officers who are scouring the area.

Part of West Coast Highway between Karrinyup Road and Bailey Street has been cordoned off.
