Body of 17-year-old swimmer found in SA

Police have found the body of a Victorian teenager who was swept out to sea off the South Australian coast on Tuesday.

The body of a Victorian teenager has been found after he was swept out to sea off South Australia's Fleurieu Peninsula.

Seventeen-year-old Arash Yari went missing while swimming on Tuesday after being caught in a rip off Parson's Beach.

A police helicopter located his body at 10.15am on Friday.

The four-day search had been hampered by rough conditions and poor visibility, police said.

Mr Yari was on a fishing trip with a friend and his father.

Nimatllah Rafiq Ali, 20, was also caught in the rip but managed to swim back to shore.

"The water was just by our hips and suddenly, in the blink of an eye, I saw him panicking because we were dragged into the ocean," Mr Ali told the ABC Thursday.

He and Mr Yari's father tried to rescue the teenager.

"I tried to help him, to take him behind and swim, but then the waves came so we both were separated," he said.

"I thought we both would die."

Victor Harbor police will prepare a report for the Coroner.
