The body of a 19-year-old woman who disappeared during a bushwalk in Sydney's Royal National Park has been found at the bottom of a cliff.
The woman, named in media reports as Shazia Edah-Tally, was with her partner near the park's popular Wedding Cake Rock walking track on Wednesday when she went missing.
Her boyfriend raised the alarm about 5pm, telling police Ms Edah-Tally had failed to return to the pair's meeting point after they became separated.
Police say a body was found at the bottom of a cliff on Thursday morning after a large-scale police search resumed at first light.
The young woman's family members were at the site as police worked to retrieve and formally identify the body.
Ms Edah-Tally's partner would be interviewed in due course, a police spokeswoman told AAP.
Investigators will also look at the possibility the incident was self-harm related, she said.
It's believed the pair had planned for a short walk near Wedding Cake Rock and were not carrying any camping gear, water or food.
The unstable white rock is a hotspot for hikers and social media snappers looking for a picturesque shot.
The NSW National Parks and Wildlife Service last year announced it would hand out $100 fines to visitors who climb the fragile cliff.
