Andrew Bogut is set to make his debut for the Los Angeles Lakers after overcoming a groin injury and a broken leg.

The Australian centre -- entering his 13th NBA season -- is out to prove he can still be a force after a tumultuous past year in which he was shipped from the Golden State Warriors to the Dallas Mavericks before he landed at the Cleveland Cavaliers, where he broke his leg just 58 seconds into his first game.

The 32-year-old had been hampered by a groin strain in pre-season but, this week, received high praise from Lakers coach Luke Walton and teammates for his dominance on the practice court, which led to him being cleared to play against the Los Angeles Clippers in their season opener -- with tip off on Friday at 1.30pm AEDT.
