It seems Usain Bolt's golden touch knows no bounds.

The eight-time Olympic sprint champion was already thinking seriously about doubling up in the final edition of Nitro Athletics on Saturday night by contesting the individual 150m as well as a leg of the 4x100m mixed relay.

That prospect moved a big step closer to reality on Friday when the captain of the Bolt All Stars drew the men's 150m as his team's Power Play event, making it worth double points.

It increased the likelihood of the All Stars claiming a clean sweep of the three-meet series, especially if the fastest man of all time steps up in the 150m.

"I feel that I need to double up because I've noticed at the start of every night we are so far behind," Bolt said on Friday.

"On Thursday night, we got lucky.

"I feel we need to get in the top spot really quickly."

Australia looked to have claimed overall bragging rights on Thursday night, only for Bolt to lodge a successful protest after the home team botched a changeover in the concluding 4x100m mixed relay, which carried a penalty of 50 points.

"I need to figure out what is going on there," said Bolt before the appeal was upheld.

"I don't know what happened - I thought if you got DQed, you'd be out for sure or lose some points."

After more than half-an-hour of deliberation by officials, that is what happened.

Australia's overall tally was amended to 895 points, 35 behind the first-placed All Stars.
