A severe thunderstorm warning has been issued for southwest Victoria as out of control grass fires burn in other parts of the state.
The Bureau of Meteorology has warned the storms are likely to produce damaging 100 kilometre winds over several hours.
Locations expected to be affected include Horsham, Hamilton, Warrnambool, Ballarat, Portland and Maryborough.
Fire crews are battling blazes in Epping, Wandin and Wonthaggi as temperatures reached 40C before noon on Saturday.
