Bookmakers robbed at gunpoint in Sydney

Four bookmakers have been robbed at gunpoint by a gang of masked men in the inner Sydney suburb of Paddington.

Police said that at about 6pm (AEST) on Saturday four men aged in their twenties were approached by five men who threatened them with firearms and demanded their bags.

The robbers then fled in a dark-coloured sedan with stolen items including laptop computers and documents related to the racing industry.

Police said the robbers were wearing dark clothing and black and white masks.

Anyone with information that may assist investigators is urged to contact Crime Stoppers on 1800 333 000.
