Ian Borrows has earned the right to be nominated to the Australian Olympic team after winning the third and final C1 men's selection trial at the canoe slalom Oceania Championships in Sydney.
It was Borrow's second selection trial win after his victory two weeks ago at the Australian Open.
Borrow's produced a time of 104.23 on Saturday at Penrith to finish 1.29 seconds ahead of Jeffery with both paddlers picking up two gate touches.
Borrow's selection still has to be ratified by the Australian Olympic Committee, but to be nominated is a dramatic turnaround for the 26-year-old after the disappointment of 2015.
"Missing out on the world's team last year, and then training hard all this year, it's a dream," an elated Borrows said.
The men's C1 final was won by Slovakian Matej Benus in 99.36, 1.05 seconds ahead of Frenchman Nicholas Peschier.
The victory made it two from two for Benus on Australian shores after he won the Australian Open title earlier in the month.
"Everyone paddled well today and I had a good race so I am very happy with today's performance," Benus said.
Meanwhile, London Olympian Jana Dukatova has taken out a nailbiting K1 women's final.
The Slovakian recorded a run of 105.09 to finish just 0.09 seconds ahead of Rio prospect Jessica Fox.
