Bourke St victims compensation deadline

Bourke Street rampage victims who have suffered psychologically have just three days left to seek compensation, lawyers say.

Victims of the Bourke Street rampage who suffered psychologically have just three days left to lodge a compensation claim.

Claims to the Transport Accident Commission must be made within 12 months, but lawyers representing the families of four victims say this is not broadly known and the deadline for claims is January 20.

"People with physical injuries were immediately looked after, but those with psychological injuries are often missed," Adviceline Injury Lawyers partner Michael Lombard said on Wednesday.
