Australian fullback Matt Bowen is to take up an option for a second season with Wigan in 2015, the club have announced.
The 32-year-old former Queensland State of Origin fullback, who was a one-club man with North Queensland Cowboys, was recruited by the Warriors as a straight replacement for Sam Tomkins after he left for the NRL at the end of last season.
Bowen, who signed an initial 12-month deal, had a slow start to his career in England but produced a man-of-the-match performance in the Warriors' 37-16 win over Catalan Dragons in Perpignan last Saturday when he took his try tally to 10 in 14 Super League appearances.
Wigan coach Shaun Wane said the news is great for the club.
"I am so pleased that Matty has decided to stay with us for another season.
"His desire to win, great professionalism and his attitude off the field fit perfectly with the Wigan Warriors culture.
"Ryan Hampshire and Lewis Tierney will have another season learning with the best, which is great for us as a club and our desire to continually win competitions."
Bowen said it was a good result for both parties.
"I am very happy to stay for another year. My family's enjoying it over here and we love the town.
"The club have a great coach in 'Waney' and great bunch of boys, I couldn't be happier."
