Treasurer Chris Bowen has released an update of Labor's election promise costings.
The government submitted 66 policies for costing under the Charter of Budget Honesty and 30 have been returned by the departments of Treasury and Finance.
Mr Bowen said the costings largely confirmed the government's figures pointing to cumulative savings of $12 million over the forward estimates to the budget bottom line.
"This is the right thing to do, to release our costings and funding in a full, transparent way," Mr Bowen told reporters in Sydney on Wednesday.
"That's what the opposition has singularly failed to do in this election campaign."

He said the coalition has said it has submitted 200 policies to the parliamentary budget office, but the documentation has not been publicly released.
Mr Bowen noted the election blackout for advertising comes in at midnight, and yet "we still have not seen the costings of the opposition.
He said Labor's costings were an update of those published in his economic statement in early August and the Pre-election Economic and Fiscal Outlook released by Treasury and Finance a few days later.
