Boy, 14, charged over assault of girl, 7

A 14-year-old boy has been refused bail after he was charged with the sexual assault of a seven-year-old girl at a NSW shopping centre.

A 14-year-old boy has been charged with sexually assaulting a seven-year-old girl in a toilet at a NSW shopping centre.

A member of the public detained the boy in a car park of a shopping centre at Moonee Beach, near Coffs Harbour, on Wednesday until police arrived.

Police have charged the boy with sexual intercourse with a child under 10, and two counts of indecent assault of a child under 16.

He was refused bail and is expected to face a children's court on Friday.
