Boy dies in Victorian tractor accident

A 12-year-old boy has been killed by a tractor while he was working on a farm in Victoria's far north.

A 12-year-old boy has been hit and killed by a tractor he was using on a farm in Victoria's far north.

The boy was found dead after using the tractor to spread fertiliser at a property on Frees Road in Lietchville near the NSW border at 7.30am on Sunday.

"Police believe the boy got off the tractor for some reason and was then struck by the still-moving machine," a Victoria Police spokeswoman said.

WorkSafe Victoria will investigate the accident.
