Boy found dead in dam in Victoria

The search for a nine-year-old boy, who failed to return from a bike ride in central Victoria, has ended in tragedy.

Police say Bailey Fuller has been found dead in a dam near the intersection of Sinclairs Road and Bennetts Road early Saturday, and emergency crews could not revive him.

The boy was last seen at his home in Strathfieldsaye, near Bendigo, about 5pm (AEDT) on Friday and a bike he had used was found about 40 minutes later on the side of Bennetts Road.

A report will now be prepared for the state coroner.
