A 16-year-old boy is recovering in a Sydney hospital after being stabbed in an attack near Sydney's Luna Park on Friday evening, police say.

A boy has been stabbed in the chest and back in a evening attack near Sydney's Luna Park.

The 16-year-old is recovering in hospital in a stable condition with non-life threatening wounds after he was repeatedly stabbed about 8pm on Friday, police say.

No one has been arrested over the violent assault and forensic experts are examining the scene of the stabbing as investigations continue.
