The family of a toddler killed in a hit-run say they are devastated by the death as the alleged killer was granted home detention bail in Adelaide.
Two-year-old boy Zayne Corons was killed after he was hit by a car in Dover Gardens last Sunday night.
Michael Craig Bullock, 52, was arrested at a nearby house, where the car was in the driveway, and charged with dangerous driving causing the boy's death.
Bullock appeared in Adelaide Magistrates Court on Friday where he was granted home detention bail on strict conditions, including that he wear a monitoring device.
Zayne's great aunt Tania Kearney spoke outside court after the hearing, surrounded by family members.
They wore T-shirts emblazoned with the boy's picture and the message "Justice for Zayne" on the back.
"We have lost someone very close and dear to us," Ms Kearney said as some of her family members broke down in tears.
"This most tragic event has taken a serious toll on our family as we comprehend what has happened.
"We have to trust that justice will take its course for our young son."
The boy had a twin sister, Ms Kearney said.
"She will grow up without the closeness and support of her twin brother, and we are greatly saddened by this," she said.
At the last court hearing Zayne's grandfather erupted with anger and emotion, lashing out at Bullock who was in the dock.
"You killed my grandson! You're dead mate," the man yelled as he was restrained by sheriff's officers and escorted.
"You killed my little boy."
The family thanked those who had reached out in support since the death and said they would now put their beloved boy to rest.
Bullock, who is also charged with leaving the scene of the accident, will return to court on May 2.
