New Zealand will field a revamped pace attack for the second trans-Tasman Test but Mitch Marsh expects they'll seamlessly cover the absence of Doug Bracewell.
Bracewell suffered pain in his right shoulder following the first Test in Wellington and scans showed damage to his rotator cuff.
It means either Matt Henry or Neil Wagner will step up as the support act for NZ's new-ball pairing of Trent Boult and Tim Southee in the clash that starts on Saturday.
Wagner is a fiercely-competitive workhorse born in South Africa, who played the second Test against Sri Lanka earlier this summer.
Henry was one of the Black Caps' best performers in the recent ODI series, having twice dismissed Steve Smith cheaply.
But the right-armer averages almost 50 with the ball in three Tests - including the run-fest at the WACA earlier this summer.
"He (Bracewell) is obviously a very important bowler to them but they've got a good squad of 15 and they'll have good cover for him," Australia allrounder Marsh said.
"Whoever comes in, we'll do our homework on him."
A New Zealand Cricket statement said no replacement will be called into the squad for Brendon McCullum's swansong at Hagley Oval.
Bracewell, who has played in New Zealand's past six Tests, took 2-127 as Australia piled on 562 in their only innings at the Basin Reserve.
"Doug has been a consistent performer for us this summer and put a lot of work into his game, so to miss out on the final Test against Australia is very disappointing for him and us," Black Caps coach Mike Hesson said.
"He'll be given time to recover and we'll work with him to get him back training as quickly as possible."
Bracewell's setback follows injuries to veteran batsman Ross Taylor and young allrounder Mitchell Santner, who were both sorely missed in the first Test.
