Wind and rain blew debris from the roof onto the pitch shortly before a regional league match at the Mineirao World Cup stadium in Belo Horizonte, Brazilian media said on Sunday.
Just over three months before the big kick-off, workers had to sweep the debris away at the 63,000-capacity stadium after pieces of metal designed to collect and drain rain water became detached during a storm and plunged to the ground, Folha de Sao Paulo reported.
Three metal pieces came loose and fell, just before a match on Saturday between hosts Gremio and Minas Boca. Nobody was hurt.
Brazil has been racing against the clock to get its 12 venues ready, half of which missed a December 31 FIFA completion deadline.
FIFA last month dropped a threat to axe Curitiba, still behind schedule, after work was stepped up in recent weeks.
