The uncle of a Brazilian student who died after being tasered by police in Sydney has told SBS at least two family members are coming to Australia to attend a coronial inquest.
Roberto Laudisio Curti, 21, died on March 18 after police tasered him up to three times on Pitt Street in downtown Sydney.
"At least two relatives from Brazil are going to Sydney for the inquiry in October - my brother, Domingos, and myself, or (another) relative", Roberto Laudisio's uncle, Joao Eduardo, told SBS Portuguese from São Paulo.
Mr Eduardo said the NSW Police brief of evidence was with the family's lawyers. "We didn't receive the brief of evidence in Brazil, but I saw a photo of it.
A pile of five volumes, some 5000-pages thick,” he said.
