The NSW Breakers have a new strike weapon in star English off-spinner Laura Marsh as they vie for an 11th straight Women's National Cricket League title.
The 28-year-old is the Breakers' first international player in the competition, which they have won 17 out of 19 times.
Marsh will be the team's frontline spinner as they head to Perth to take on the Western Fury and the SA Scorpions in their first two matches of the season on Friday and Saturday.
The Fury take on the Scorpions on Sunday, while Victoria, Tasmania, ACT and Queensland play off against each other in Brisbane over the weekend.
Marsh is fresh from an unsuccessful Ashes campaign where the hosts came up short against Breakers players Alex Blackwell, Ellyse Perry, Alyssa Healy and Rene Farrell.
"I've known about the Breakers and their successful history, hopefully this year can be exactly the same," Marsh said.
"Alex Blackwell asked me if I'd like to come over to Australia and play in the 50-over competition.
"I've never been over to Australia to play in the state comp and it's something I've always really wanted to do so I'm really excited to be here."
Marsh boasts an impressive 85 wickets from 72 one-day internationals at an average of 27.89.
Ashes quick Rene Farrell returns to NSW from the ACT Meteors for her first game for her home state since 2008.
The Breakers will be without Australian representatives Erin Osborne and Sarah Coyte (now SA), as well as Leah Poulton and Angela Reakes from the side that defeated South Australia by 144 runs in the final of last season's WNCL.
Marsh's England teammate Danni Wyatt returns to the Victorian squad for the first time since the 2011-12 season.
Australian captain Meg Lanning will lead a Spirit squad that includes fellow Ashes player Kristen Beams and New Zealand international Hayley Kensen.
