Brisbane hooker Brittany Breayley hopes to make it third time lucky when the NRL women's Dally M Medallist is named on Wednesday night.

But the Queensland and Jillaroos star hopes to make her own luck with a performance Cameron Smith would be proud of in Sunday's inaugural NRL Women's Premiership grand final against Sydney Roosters.

For the third straight year Breayley is in line for the prestigious women's Dally M after being nominated as a finallist along with St George Illawarra centre Jess Sergis, Warriors hooker Krystal Rota and Roosters speedster Taleena Simon.

Breayley has been the key to Brisbane's unbeaten three-match run that has them installed as overwhelming favourites to claim the NRLW crown.

"It's an absolute honour to be going down there on Wednesday night," Breayley sai.

"I am not expecting anything but it would be good to get the win."

While keeping her fingers crossed for individual honours, Breayley said her main focus was helping the Broncos finish the NRLW season unbeaten.

She has earned comparisons with Melbourne skipper Smith for her superb game management and calming influence on the Broncos this year.

And Breayley admitted she would have to emulate her idol if Brisbane were not to fall at the final hurdle.

"I like to model my game on Cam Smith. He is a legend of the game and the way he controls his team around the paddock is how I like to play my game," she said.

"I am the first to touch the ball so if I am not in control of my own game it can lead the team to spiral.

"My best approach is to be the calming influence on the team and do my job well."

Brisbane are hoping star centre Meg Ward (hand) will be fit to play.

"There is a lot of outside noise but we are trying to get the girls to be really level headed, knuckle down and hopefully earn the right to get the win on Sunday," Breayley said.
