George Bailey wants to make the yellow floppy cool again, and he's urging his teammates to join in on the fun.
Bailey's canary yellow, wide-brimmed floppy hat became an instant hit on Tuesday when he donned it for Australia's five-wicket victory over India at the WACA Ground.
One fan was so taken by the hat they even started a twitter account for it, calling it: @GeorgeBaileyHat.
White, wide-brimmed hats are commonly worn in Test cricket.
But baseball caps are the norm in ODIs and T20s nowadays.
Bailey finds that a tad boring, and he's urging others to join him on the floppy bandwagon.
"I imagine in 10 or 15 years the coloured floppy will have the same sort of significance as the baggy green," Bailey said with a big grin.
"I think there'll be youngsters growing up wanting to don the floppy. It's got that sort of power.
"I wouldn't be surprised if there's a few more boys not wearing one in game two.
"We've been pushing it for years to bring back the floppy."
And just to prove he's across all styles of hat fashion, Bailey threw his support behind the super absorbent, Terry Towelling bucket hat commonly worn by fans.
"It's a fabric that isn't used enough, not just on the sporting field, but in general," Bailey said.
Bailey believes the floppy yellow has some sort of mystical powers.
And it certainly worked wonders for the 33-year-old on Tuesday when he plundered 112 to lift Australia to a 1-0 lead in their series against India.
With the floppy starting to take flight, don't be surprised to see a slips cordon full of them when Australia take on India at the Gabba on Friday.
