Brisbane gas leak site deemed safe

The site of a major gas leak in the Brisbane suburb of Wynnum has been deemed safe, police say.

An exclusion zone had been set up around Walnut Street and homes and businesses were evacuated as a precaution at about midday on Sunday.

Several roads in the area that were closed to traffic and pedestrians have been reopened.
