Turning the Gabba into a fortress has put Brisbane on track to end a 10-year finals hiatus, now they intend on conquering two of the AFL's hardest away trips while surging into the top four.
The Lions have won six of seven games at home in 2019 but they're 2-4 outside Queensland.
The next two weeks, during which Brisbane face GWS at Giants Stadium then tackle Port Adelaide at Adelaide Oval, will go a long way in dictating whether they're making up the numbers in September or well placed to do some damage.
If the fifth-placed Lions record their maiden win at Giants Stadium, Sunday's reward will be four premiership points but also the home side's spot in the top four.
"To be the best, you have to beat the best," Lachie Neale told reporters in Brisbane.
"If you look at the ladder, it's pretty obvious what is happening this weekend.
"The Giants are an unbelievable side. They've got so much talent across every line. It'll be a massive challenge.
"If we can beat a quality side like GWS, or looking ahead to Port ... it'll be a huge boost for us."
The Lions' loss to Carlton at Marvel Stadium in round 12 prompted pundits to declare they were premiership pretenders because of a lopsided record outside Queensland.
Chris Fagan's team demolished St Kilda at the same venue in their next outing.
Neale, speaking on the eve of his 150th match, acknowledged Brisbane learned some lessons after stumbling against the Blues but defended their away form in 2019.
"I don't think our road form has been too bad," the midfielder said.
"We had a couple of average performances, against Carlton and Essendon.
"Other than that we've been reasonably competitive ... the last time we travelled we had a good performance against St Kilda.
"I feel like the guys have got a pretty good routine down pat now."
Neale, who was Fremantle's best and fairest in 2016 and 2018, has been a key part of the Lions' resurgence.
The 26-year-old feels he has taken his game to another level since shifting from Perth to Brisbane.
"I've developed as a player in a short amount of time and that's a credit to the players, the coaching staff and everyone here," he said.
"I've still been a bit consistent within games, so I feel there's another level I can get to."
GWS veteran Brett Deledio was full of praise, suggesting Neale was in career-best form while talking up Brisbane's threats.
"They're playing exciting footy ... we'll have our work cut out for us," Deledio said.
