Brisbane have lost AFLW star Sabrina Frederick-Traub, who has cited personal reasons for her move to Victoria.

Her departure is another big blow for the Lions, who had a poor season after making the first two AFLW grand finals.

The Lions said the marquee player is leaving so she can be closer to her partner's family.

"We've loved having Sabs on the journey with us and she will be missed," Brisbane women's chief executive Breeanna Brock said.

"As with anything in life you have to do what's right for you and your family and we certainly respect that."

Frederick-Traub is a two-time All Australian, but the forward only kicked 1.7 this season.
