Brisbane Roar interim boss Davies decides club future

Brisbane interim coach Darren Davies has confirmed he's made a decision about his future with the A-League club.

He's just not ready to tell anyone what that decision is, even his players.

"What I can tell you is, yes, I have made my mind up," Davies said on the eve of Friday's clash with Sydney FC at Suncorp Stadium.

"But I won't be communicating that publicly until I tell the people around me and the playing group.

"I am focused 100 per cent on tomorrow night and doing the very best for this football club each and every game, starting tomorrow night.

"When I communicate that to the players? I'm not sure."

Davies has been in charge of the Roar since John Aloisi's resignation in late December.

In eight games in charge, the Welshman is yet to win with three draws and five defeats including a heartbreaking 4-3 loss to Adelaide United last weekend when his team blew a 3-0 lead.

The Roar are just three points ahead of bottom-placed Central Coast with both clubs having won only one of 17 matches so far this season.

A selection panel is in the process of finding the Roar's next head coach.

Among those reportedly in contention are former England manager Sven-Goran Eriksson, ex-Liverpool great Robbie Fowler and former Roar player Karl Dodd.

Adelaide United coach Marco Kurz has also been linked to the position.
