A saltwater crocodile which attacked a British tourist in far north Queensland may be removed.
The young woman captured the terrifying moment on video as she was attacked by a crocodile at Cape Tribulation on Monday night.
A video posted on social media shows the 24-year-old walking along the water's edge at Cape Tribulation before the small crocodile leaps out of the water and bites her on the thigh.
A Cairns and Hinterland Hospital spokeswoman said the woman received treatment for a bite at Mossman Hospital and was discharged later that evening.
The roughly two-metre saltwater crocodile will "potentially" be removed, the environmental protection agency said in a statement.
Wildlife officers will search the area on Tuesday to target the animal.
This latest incident follows an ordeal involving two men who were bogged in their ute in crocodile-infested waters in Western Australia.
Charlie Williams, 19, Beau Bryce-Maurice, 37 and dog Mindee became bogged on the Dampier Peninsula on Friday, over 100km north of Broome.
After failing to dig the vehicle out they said they spent four nights camped on top of it to stay safe.
Mr Williams told the ABC there was a constant threat of snakes and crocodiles as the tide came and went.
"We could see the [crocodile’s] eyes hanging in the background," Mr Williams said.
"The crocodile kept going for the dog, swimming around the car when the tide was up,"M r Williams told The West Australian.
"It was probably a couple of metres away, quite a big croc."
