History is against Brisbane coach Anthony Seibold in the start of his NRL reign at the Broncos.
Not just his club's history but also that of their opponents Melbourne too.
The Storm are a definite bogey team for the Broncos, with Brisbane defeating Melbourne just four times since the teams met in the 2006 grand final.
Storm coach Craig Bellamy has a flawless record when it comes to starting the season, winning all of his 16 season openers as a head coach.
Seibold - a former assistant to Bellamy - is sure his former boss will leave no stone unturned when it comes to Thursday's season opener.
"They're going to be very prepared. They'll be meticulously prepared," Seibold said.
"Since Bellyache's time there, from 2003 until this year, they haven't lost a round one game.
"That tells you they always prepare really well for the start of the season. It'll be a good test."
Brisbane head south with experienced representative forward Matt Gillett to make his return to the NRL from serious injury at lock, while Jack Bird will look to put his 2018 nightmare behind him from the centres.
Teenager Tom Flegler will make his NRL debut from the interchange bench but Seibold said the 18-year-old's pre-season trial performances had secured his round one selection.
"He's earnt the jersey, we're going to give him an opportunity off the bench there tomorrow night," he said.
"He won't play long minutes but he's going to get an opportunity to test himself."
Bellamy heads into 2019 with just one member of the Storm's 'Big Three' remaining after Billy Slater's retirement after last year's grand final defeat.
While champion hooker Cameron Smith has re-signed for another year, Bellamy admits he has been forced to tinker how his team plays with Slater no longer around.
Scott Drinkwater's pectoral tear means Jahrome Hughes will don the No.1 jersey against the Broncos but Bellamy said retired fullback Slater had played a role in ensuring his replacements were prepared.
"The three fullbacks Drinky, (Ryan) Papenhuyzen and Jahrome are all different in what they bring to a team, what their strengths are," Bellamy said.
"It hasn't been easy but it's been a real advantage having Billy being a part of it. Here was here on Monday and he was the last guy to leave the training paddock with Jahrome and Paps."
