Australian Adam Gotsis has played a part in an extraordinary effort by Denver NFL teammate Justin Simmons who blocked an extra-point attempt which led to Broncos safety Will Parks running 84 yards to beat New Orleans 25-23.
The 24-year-old defensive end Gotsis is part of the Super Bowl champions' special teams and helped cut a path for a leaping Simmons.
The Saints appeared poised to win after Drew Brees threw a 32-yard touchdown pass to Brandin Cooks with 1:22 left at the Mercedes-Benz Superdome, tying the score at 23, pending the extra-point kick.
But on the attempt by Wil Lutz, Simmons - with Gotsis on his right shoulder - hurdled the centre and easily blocked the kick.
The ball bounced into Parks' hands at the Denver 16, and he ran down the left sideline for the two-point defensive score, giving Denver the lead.

Parks came close to stepping out of bounds on the play, but after a replay review, the official determined that he did not, resulting in an 84-yard two-point return.
Meanwhile, Ezekiel Elliott ran 32 yards for the go-ahead touchdown with nine seconds remaining as the Dallas Cowboys rallied for a 35-30 victory over the Pittsburgh Steelers in a dramatic renewal of their decades-long rivalry.
In a remarkable game in which the lead changed hands three times in the final two minutes and four times in the fourth quarter, Elliott ran for two touchdowns and also scored on an 83-yard screen pass as the Cowboys (8-1) won their eighth in a row.
The Steelers (4-5) dropped their fourth in a row despite Ben Roethlisberger's 408 yards passing and three touchdowns.
Elsewhere, Miami defeated San Diego 31-24, Arizona beat San Francisco 23-20, Kansas edged Carolina 20-17, Los Angeles downed the New York Jets 9-6 and Washington got the better of Minnesota 26-20.
Tennessee dispatched Green Bay 47-25 while Tampa Bay beat the Chicago Bears 36-10.
