He says his focus right now is on football and his family life in Queensland.
“I’ve come up here because the Broncos gave me a chance to follow my family,” says Barba.
Along with the likes of footballers Stewart Mills and Todd Lowrie, Barba is one of Brisbane's biggest signings in the last two decades.
Unfortunately, off field issues and injuries in the 2013 NRL season have overshadowed what this Dally M winner should be known for.
As one of the games best attacking players, Barba says he looks forward to playing for, and not against the Broncos fans, when he runs out onto Suncorp Stadium for the first time next year.

“Something I always enjoyed doing was coming up here, playing at Suncorp, because the fans really get behind the teams. But it will be even better wearing a Broncos jersey this time round. I can’t wait to get out there and hopefully put a smile on all those Brisbane fans,” says Barba.
Barba is also a firm believer in family coming first and says his move from the Bulldogs was partly because of this.
“Having family up here is the main cause of why we’re here,” says Barba.
Since signing with Brisbane last Wednesday, Barba is now able to visit his family living close by in Mackay.
He will also be playing alongside cousin and international fullback, Josh Hoffman.
Broncos coach Anthony Griffin was quick to reassure fans today that Hoffman will remain in a Bronco’s jersey at least until his contract finishes in 2015.
