Brisbane great Mick Hancock has tipped the Broncos to finally add to their trophy collection by downing Sydney Roosters in Sunday's inaugural NRLW grand final.

In the foyer of Brisbane's new headquarters there is an empty pedestal ready to receive their next premiership trophy.

Broncos great Mick Hancock had a hand in five of the six trophies on display.

And he reckons another may be on its way on Sunday - thanks to their women's team.

Brisbane are overwhelming favourites to claim the maiden NRL Women's Premiership title after booking a grand final berth against Sydney Roosters as the competition's only unbeaten side.

Few have a more intimate knowledge than Hancock of the Broncos' formula for success since their 1988 inception and the ex-livewire winger believes the women have what it takes.

The former Queensland and Test flyer has revelled in his assistant coaching role for the Broncos women in their inaugural season and is backing them to finally add some more silverware.

The Broncos men are enduring their longest premiership drought after collecting the last of their six titles back in 2006.

"It would be fantastic. To put the women's trophy next to the men's would be pretty special," Hancock said.

"The sacrifices they have made just to get here is quite incredible. They have had to leave children, family, jobs - it's been a remarkable journey.

"Whether they win or lose I think this will be a memory entrenched in league history but also the players' lives.

"But hopefully they get the recognition that they deserve."

Hancock - a Broncos assistant with Scott Prince under coach Paul Dyer - admitted it had been a "surreal" week for their female players as they juggle regular media commitments for the first time this week.

But he backed his side to handle the occasion.

"The girls don't over analyse it, they just want to go out and play," Hancock said.

"They don't treat it as a big deal. They just love league and being part of a family which is what we have created here.

"They have taken everything on board, there is no whingeing. They are different to the men.

"You can't wait to get to training because their faces have lit up because they are doing something they love - I have loved every minute because they care."

Brisbane are already buzzing after Jillaroos hooker Brittany Breayley claimed the women's Dally M Medal this week.
