Brookfield again extends takeover offer

Brookfield Infrastructure has again extended its takeover offer for ports and rail operator Asciano - this time by one week, to January 29.

Canadian predator Brookfield Infrastructure has again extended its $9 billion takeover offer for Australian ports and rail operator Asciano.

Brookfield said on Friday that its takeover offer is now scheduled to close on Friday, January 29, 2016 - a week later than the prior deadline.

Earlier this month, Brookfield had extended its offer until January 22.

At 1011 AEDT, Asciano shares were 12 cents higher at $8.50.
