Stood-aside minister Mal Brough has escaped being found in contempt of parliament following allegations he misled federal parliament.
Labor last year referred the matter to the Speaker, claiming Mr Brough had deliberately misled the House of Representatives over details relating to the procurement of former Speaker Peter Slipper's diaries.
Mr Brough is being investigated by the police, however Speaker Tony Smith told parliament on Tuesday he did not find enough evidence to prove the MP misled the lower house.
