The WBA have stripped Australian Lucas Browne of their regular heavyweight world boxing title and suspended him for six months.

The move comes after the B sample of a doping test taken following his fight against Ruslan Chagaev also tested positive for banned substance Clenbuterol.

Browne became Australia's first heavyweight world champion in March when he stopped Chagaev in Grozny, Chechnya.

"I'm leaving everything to my lawyer Leon Margules," Browne tweeted in reaction to Friday's news.
